3/28/81 is on YouTube. It's a wonderful, tight version, and the clip is just so nice to see. Phil seems to be having fun; so does the cameraman, who just so happens to cut straight to Bob after the line at 2:51, "just another pretty face." Is it a coincidence, or was he just waiting for that moment? Hmmmmmm. Poor Bob. Not fair. Yet funny.

And you're right about the clapping, which is really apparent in the clip. First time I saw it, it struck me as not quite a GD crowd ... maybe more of a Who crowd, since they shared the bill? Or a lost Lynyrd Skynyrd crowd? I half expect them to start shouting, Freeeebirrrd!

You have to keep it in perspective...I mean we're talking here about the country where David Hasselhoff has a huge following.

Hahaha...I think the hand clapping is really funny and has to be a German thing! I've never seen that at any show I've ever been too...

That is definetly an abnormal simultaneous overhead clap by this crowd!...Crazy!...especially,when your hands usually just got in the way during a show, that is,if reality wasn`t your thing..hehe...but none the less, a strange crowd indeed, for a crowd that does just fine on its own in the weird category!

Whatever one's relationship with one's hands during a show (which, after all, can be gainfully employed if you dance), I think the typical GD crowd would not be quite so amenable to such rigid choreography. Maybe it was a German thing. "Achtung! Eins, vei, drei, CLAP! You over zere! You are not clapping. Vee haff VAYS of making you clap ..."
